Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year. This letter is to inform you of some of the things will be doing this year.
Ocean Book - Organized, Communication, Every, Achiever, Needs. This is a binder that contains a zipper pouch, for money or notes, paper to write notes on, an Ocean Book rules page, a class list and specials schedule, a homework calendar, D'Nealian handwriting chart and a folder for papers that stay at home or come back to school. This binder goes home and back to school each day.
Snack- We will have a snack every day at 9:40. Your child should bring a healthy snack from home. Milk is provided in the morning. At this age they also get hungry in the afternoon. A snack can also be brought in the afternoon. There is no milk available then so juice or water can be sent.
Backpack Animal - This year the stuffed animal is a turtle that the Kindergartners will name on the first day of school. This animal will go home with a journal every Friday with a different child and comes back on Monday. Your child may take the turtle with them wherever they go. Use the journal to write about the things your child and the turtle do.
Show & Share Bag - This is a bag that also goes home with one child every Friday. Your child may choose one item that fits in the bag to bring back on Monday. The bag has window pockets on the front that you can put pictures or word clues about the object into. The class tries to guess what is in the bag on Monday.
